The email list
If you enter your email into any of the subscribe boxes on jameshaytonphd.com, you will be sent a message to confirm your subscription. If you do not click the confirmation link, you will not be added to the list and will not be contacted again.
What the list is used for
The email list is used to inform you of new articles, articles from the archives you may have missed, upcoming events (paid and free), services for PhD students (paid) and other information related to the website.
Where your email is stored
The email list is stored with ConvertKit, a specialist email list management service, for the sole purpose of delivering emails on behalf of James Hayton. Your email is never shared with anyone else, and ConvertKit will never use your email for any other purpose.
Email interaction data
When you open an email or click on a link in an email from us, we store that information so we can measure engagement. It also means we can check with you whether you still want to receive emails if you haven’t opened or clicked an email for a long time.
Other potentially identifiable information
When you confirm your email subscription, we record the IP address you use. This is to make sure we have a proper record of your consent.
Your right to unsubscribe
You may unsubscribe at any time, by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. If you have subscribed using more than one email address, you will need to unsubscribe each of them.
If you unsubscribe, you will receive no further emails unless you resubscribe later. Your email and associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days or sooner.
If you email us
If you reply to an email sent via the email list, your email will also be included in the Gmail contact list for email@example.com. This will only be used for one to one interaction relevant to the email conversation or services you engage.
Neither your email nor the content of your emails will be shared with any other party.
If you send a message via a contact form on the website, your email and message will also be stored in the database on jameshaytonphd.com. Your email will not be added to our subscription list.
